These days I’m mostly playing FFXIV and testing Battlefield 4 Beta. The games are good in their own aspects, but I’m always looking for something new which’ll steal my attention span for a prolonged period of time. Hold your horses, I think I’ve found it. I think. The problem is, there’s only a limited amount of information regarding the game available and what looks good on the paper, doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be that good once I get to play it. But I like to give myself false hope, so here’s hoping for a great game!
The game in question is indeed if you bothered to read the title of this post, The Division. The premises are as follows.
A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails. Fighting to prevent the fall of society, the agents will find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy, forced to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it. When everything collapses, your mission begins.

Seems interesting no ? At least I think so. The game surely takes on a premise which very well could be real. I always like games with a sense of realism to them. Also, this is a game in the long line of Tom Clancy games, which I also always have loved since the release of Rainbow Six. on a totally different matter though, rest in peace Tom Clancy, who sadly died today 03.10.2013, 66 years old. Anyway, so far from what we know there will be a character creator, solo/co-op and pvp gameplay. So if you prefer to be a lone wolf, you totally can! But I suspect the game will be more fun playing with others, seeing as the game will always be online. What’s also cool is that what decisions you make, will be reflected in game. Such as bringing water back, electricity and what not. You get the point. The game will also support tablet functionality, unprecedented to any other game I know of. Such as being able to do certain things as part of a unit, so you can play and help your friends even though you’re not at home on your PC, Xbox One or PS4. Pretty cool huh ?
Below are some in-game footage and as far as I know, release date is currently set for late Q4, 2014. Most likely they’ll aim to release it just before Christmas hits us. Marketing at its best, but I want the game waaaaay before that! Let’s hope they release it before Q4.
